"Vampire Academy" was the winner of the "Twilight" division, which also included "Beautiful Creatures," "Divergent," "Maze Runner," "Shiver," "Wake" and "Odd Thomas."

"Mortal Instuments" won the "Harry Potter" division, beating out "The Seventh Son," "Septimus Heap," "Legend," "Maximum Ride," "Incarceron" and "Night Circus."

Here's a description of the novels in the championship round:

"Vampire Academy" -- Richelle Mead's six-book series of New York Times bestsellers, about girls training to hunt the undead, is something of a mix between "Harry Potter" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," with a little "Twlight"-style romance thrown in. So it's got all of its bases covered, at least. Preger Entertainment is reportedly working to bring a movie version to the big screen.

"Mortal Instruments" -- This supernatural mystery already has a key ingredient to big box-office: a thriving fan base. Four books have been published, with two more promised. Screen Gems is reportedly developing a movie version, with Harald Zwart set to direct and Lily Collins as the girl who uncovers strange secrets about her bloodlines.
